The Hillsboro noon Lions Club honored Hillsboro Middle School students who entered their Peace Poster Contest at the club’s meeting Nov. 17.
Twelve students under the direction of art teacher Dustin Dalke entered the contest. Kyle Unruh won first place and a $50 check from the Lions. Paige Proffitt and Jessyka Rappel tied for second place and each received a check for $25. Each student that entered was recognized with a candy treat.
The Peace Poster Contest is sponsored by Lions Clubs International. The theme of the contest was “Children Know Peace.” Unruh’s poster has been entered in the Lions District 17 S competition and could go onto state and international competitions.
