Lloyd E. Hein, 89, of Eugene, Ore., died Nov. 2, 2008 at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, Springfield, Ore.

Born Sept. 23, 1919 in Durham, he was the son of Daniel E. and Hannah Schlotthauer Hein.

He graduated from Durham High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945.

On June 6, 1943, he married Delphia Ruth Frick at Ozark, Ala. They were married for 65 years, living in Sweet Home, Ore., the past 10 years.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hein.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Michael Hein of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Pam Henderson of Junction City; a sister, Marietta Miller of Spanaway, Wash.; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Nov. 5 at Gilliand Cemetery in Sweet Home.
