LuElla Bartel, 91, of Ooltewah, Tenn., died May 21 at Ooltewah.
Born Sept. 19, 1918, at Tampa, to Henry and Amelia (Hass) Hoffman, she graduated from Durham High School in 1937.
She married Leonard Bartel on Jan. 18, 1943, at McPherson. The couple lived in Durham before moving to Chase County for a short while. They lived most of their lives in Marion County.
LuElla moved to Ooltewah to be near her son. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Her parents; her husband, Leonard; a sister, Ruby Ollek; and two brothers, Leroy and Earl, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Larry of Ooltewah; Glenn of Shawnee; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m.
Burial will follow the service at Durham Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Marion City Library in care of Zeiner Funeral Home or the family will forward memorials to the library in LuElla’s name.
