Major plays with honor band

Hillsboro Middle School eighth-grade tuba player Charlie Major performed with South Central Kansas Music Educators Association middle school honor band Saturday in Andover.

Students from 11 counties, including Marion, met for a day of rehearsal culminating in an afternoon concert.

The band was under the direction of University of Missouri associate director of bands Brian Silvey.
