Marcella Klaassen

Marcella Marie Klaassen, 93, Hillsboro, died Jan. 7, 2009, at Parkside Homes of Hillsboro.

Born Oct. 3, 1915, in Mount Lake, Minn., she was the daughter of Isaac J. and Helen (Schroeder) Dick.

She was a registered nurse.

She married Nick A. Klaassen Dec. 27, 1940, at Mount Lake. He died in 1990.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Selma Unruh.

Survivors include two sons, Joel Klaassen of Hillsboro and Mark Klaassen of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Janet Voth of Newton and Elaine Klaassen of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Milly Stucky of North Newton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church of Hillsboro with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established with the church, MCC, or Bethel College.
