Marion again approves budget
Marion city council members unanimously approved the city’s 2023 budget for a second time Monday.
The redo was necessary, city administrator Mark Skiles said, because members did not cast their first votes by roll call as required.
The city’s levy for its 2023 budget represents a 5.814% increase. Just as on Aug. 22, only one member of the public — former council member Jerry Dieter — spoke out Monday against Marion’s plan to raise its tax levy.
