Marion, Hillsboro wrestlers win at duals
Last week’s Marion County duals didn’t end with ideal results for Marion or Hillsboro from a team standpoint, but each had wrestlers secure a 5-0 record.
The Trojans continued to be led by Jordan Bachman at 145 pounds and Tristan Rathbone at 152, as each turned in a perfect record on the day.
They were two of six Hillsboro wrestlers to secure at least three wins, which the team rode to a 2-1 finish in pool play.
Despite finishing second in its pool, Hillsboro dropped the first match in bracket and finished eighth as a team.
Todd Palic excelled in the 182-pound class, going 5-0. Luke Lanning had a strong showing of his own and went 4-1 in the 170-pound class.
Marion struggled as a team, rounding out its pool at 0-3. The team finished 15 overall following a win over Leon-Bluestem in bracket play.
