Marion hires Centre principal

Marion school board on Monday approved Donald Raymer as the district’s new high school principal.

He comes to the district after serving as Centre principal for grades six through 12.

Marion principal Travis Rogers announced his resignation and that he would be headed back to Wichita West school district.

Rogers came to Marion in 2018 after four years at Wichita West.

One advantage to hiring Raymer is that coming from Centre provides a familiarity, superintendent Aaron Homburg said.

“We had a big pool to choose from, and we’re very excited to have him,” Homburg said.

The board also hired a middle school social studies teacher, who will fill the position left by Kyle Gfeller’s resignation.
