Marion Main St. open house to be Sunday

At least eight businesses will be participating in Marion Main St. Open House 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 and will include refreshments and door prizes.

Nadien Iseli, owner of Central Park Antiques, got together with the seven other businesses to plan the event.

Businesses participating include Gallery 101 of the Flint Hills, Central Park Antiques, Flint Hills Gold, Sew What Quilt Shop, TC’s What Not Shop, Bearly Makin’-It Antiques, Methvin’s Prairie Oak Alapca Farm, and HRK.

HRK owner Bernice Beach said that she hopes that the open house will draw in many new faces to the 33-year-old business.

“After 33 years, we’re still getting people who say, ‘Oh I’ve never been in here before,’” Beach said, “so you always hope to get more of those in.”

Marion Main St. Open House will be in conjunction with Marion City Library’s Christmas home tour.

Iseli also said that if other downtown merchants wanted to be open that afternoon, she would “love to have them.”
