Police report

Marion police reported the following activities in addition to working on reports, follow-up investigations, traffic stops, vehicle maintenance, vehicle identification number inspections, and patrolled school zones.

Oct. 18 – Officers met with a concerned individual about child custody and conducted a civil standby.

Oct. 19 – Responded to St. Luke Hospital on a report of a suspicious person. Assistance was given to a lost motorist and to the Emergency Medical Services. Officers met with the county attorney regarding open cases.

Oct. 20 – Officers provided traffic control for Lifeteam and assistance to a sheriff’s deputy with a domestic dispute. Response was given to a 911 hang-up and officers met with a citizen regarding a missing dog. A walk through at Marion High School was conducted.

Oct. 21 – Conducted follow-up investigations on possible Amber Alert sightings.

Oct. 22 – Officers served a search warrant for illegal drugs that resulted in three arrests.

Oct. 23 – Assistance was provided to sheriff’s deputies and response was given to a gas skip.

Oct. 24 – Officers fingerprinted a citizen for a background check. Responded to report of a suspicious person and checked a door-to-door salesman. Assistance was given to sheriff’s deputies with traffic control.

Oct. 25 – Officers conducted firearms training.

Oct. 26 – Officers responded to a domestic dispute and assisted Social Rehabilitative Services with home visits. A drug awareness talk was conducted at Oasis.

Oct. 27 – Safety programs were conducted at Marion High School.

Oct. 28 – Response was given to a report of a dog-at-large and officers met with a concerned citizen.

Thursday – A Halloween safety program was conducted at Marion Elementary School and a officers assisted the sixth-grade class with a consequences project. Officers conducted a walk-through at Oasis and met with a concerned parent. A parking complaint was checked, a death notification was given, and an arrest was made.

Friday – Officers responded to an injury accident resulting in an arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Assistance was given to the Hillsboro Police Department and officers conducted a foot patrol on Main Street.

Saturday – Officers conducted a foot patrol and removed an outhouse from Main Street. Response was given to a non-injury accident and to a dog-at-large complaint. Officers recovered property.

Officers gave five warnings and made six arrests.

Incident reports

1600 block of North Alamo Road, Canton

Unknown individual(s) entered a building and dented a 1996 Ford pickup and a 2004 Dodge pickup, causing $25,000 in damages.

1500 block of 120th Road, Marion

A banner sign was taken from the property. Estimated loss was $175.

250th and Bison roads, Lehigh

A telephone wire pedestal and road signs were damaged by a shotgun. Damages were estimated at $560.
