The new system of road care for the county was put into operation last week. Because of the scarcity of labor, farmers and others who formerly dragged the roads were unable to continue.
The county has been divided into 12 districts with a man for each district. Small graders have been purchased for each of the road men.
There is no doubt when the new system gets into its working stride there will be a big improvement in the county roads.
At a meeting Tuesday night, it was decided to try to work up a twilight league in baseball for this summer. S.L. Brose was put in charge and is making an effort to organize
The student body declared a holiday Wednesday to celebrate the carrying of the school bonds. Weenies, bread, and marshmallows were bought and there was a hike to dead man’s bridge where an enjoyable afternoon was spent.
Earl Magathan was at Aulne Monday installing a new switch board at the telephone exchange there. It was a 100-line board with all modern equipment.
