The Greeks of the Palace of Sweets skipped the country last Saturday, and creditors are in charge of the few assets they left. Title to the fixtures was held by concerns from whom they were purchased.

The two new fronts in the Carpenter building — Sandberg Drug Store and Delaplain Jewelry — look fine. The rear part of the Delaplain room is occupied by Delaplain & Huffman with their Victor stock and demonstration parlor. They have the room splendidly fitted up and, with the whole room newly decorated, have a very attractive place.

Stout Bros. have the agency for the sensational new attachment for transforming any Ford car into a tractor for all sorts of farm work. The two rear wheels of a Ford can be taken off and the attachment put on in about half an hour’s time. The tractor is guaranteed to do the work of four horses — and it does not cost any more than one good horse. A demonstration has been arranged for Saturday afternoon of this week at the Batt farm adjoining Marion on north Walnut St. Plowing with this tractor, as hard as the ground is, ought to be a real test.

The best wheat yield we have heard about around here this year is that on the John Olsen place west of town farmed this year by Harry Richardson. From 26 acres the measure showed 1,007 bushels and 20 pounds or nearly 40 bushels to the acre. At the current market price, $2.30 here yesterday—this is a little over $89 an acre.
