After a 30-minute tour of the former Golden Living Center facility, Marion City Council approved the purchase of the facility. The asking price was $100,000 — a special price, just for the city’s consideration. No planned specific use was announced.

This year’s Farm/City banquet, sponsored by Marion Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 6 p.m. Monday in Marion City Building basement. This annual event is a show of appreciation to area farmers and ranchers for their support of local businesses.

The Marion Warriors will play host Dec. 8-13 to the Marion Classic in its brand new gymnasium located in the USD 408 Sports and Aquatics Center.

Four homes will be open Nov. 30 during Marion’s Christmas home tour, “A Natural Noel,” sponsored by Marion City Library. Included are the homes of Rick and Linda Sardou at Marion County Lake, Brad and Jeannie Wildin, 524 S. Cedar, Claude and Phyllis Landis, 2230 N. Sunrise, and Gerald and Jan Wiens, 407 S. Lincoln.

Letters written by second graders in Susan Hall and Shannon Cooper’s classes are published in this issue telling their feelings about the Thanksgiving holiday.
