Jerry Kline is pictured as he shows some of his toy tractor collection at Marion Senior Center. He bought his first tractor, a 1947 John Deere, when he was about 10 years old. Kline said he had to work hard to make enough money to buy the toys and that he has managed to hang on to many of the original ones.

Marion High School juniors and seniors dressed in their newest and finest Saturday evening for the annual promenade, banquet, and dance. Pictured is Wil Case as he escorts Shanna Kline to the banquet.

Midway Motors and the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at the auto dealer’s future site, the intersection of Ash Street and U.S.-56 in Hillsboro.

Marion High School construction class did some framework at the site of the new home for the Ryan Newell family. Pictured doing concrete work at the site Friday are Les Riggs and Brian Fruechting.

Lauren Pickens, Peabody-Burns High School standout, was named the most valuable female runner at the Shocker Pre-State Classic at Wichita State University Friday, placing first in all three events in which she competed, and breaking records.
