Lori Heerey, owner and broker of Heerey Real Estate of Marion, is pictured as she places a real estate sign in the 200 block of South Freeborn St., Marion. Heerey has purchased the former Kannady & Associates Real Estate business from Charles Kannady who is retiring after 30 years in the business he established in 1980.

Outstanding employee of the third quarter at St. Luke Hospital is Gene Vinduska, who began working there in 1990 as a plant operations assistant. He was appointed supervisor in 2002 and worked in that capacity until he died in 2010.

Wil Case and his parents, Nicki and Casey Case are pictured as Wil signs a letter of intent to play baseball for Ottawa University.

Heavy rain Saturday night and Sunday morning flooded parts of Marion County and forced evacuation of some residents in Peabody. More than 5 inches was reported throughout the county.

At the June 7th visit to Marion by the Bloodmobile, Wayne Wagner received recognition for having given 22 gallons of blood.

Others recognized were Lana Stevenson, 1 gallon; Christa Lalouette, Todd Siebert, and Jack Summerville, 2 gallons; Ann Carr and Laurie Miesse, 4; Rhonda Brenzikofer, 5; and Rodney Richmond, 6.
