Mayor Jones was in McPherson the other day to inspect ornamental light poles there. Enough money has been raised to provide not only the four on the bridge, but several others.

The Christian Endeavor Society of the Federated Church and the Epworth League sponsored a Halloween social last night. The crowd—about two hundred—gathered at the G.M. Wolf home and then made a mysterious trip to the Wheeler Building, third story room, where the evening was delightfully spent.

Mrs. R.E. Payne has re-opened her dressmaking business and is very pleasantly located in the Record building, where she will be pleased to greet her old friends and customers and new ones as well.

The Marion High School football team romped away with the long end of the score again when it met the fighting and hopeful bunch from Chase County’s seat of justice. The game was much delayed by timeouts for both teams and lasted almost into the evening darkness. The game was called, and the Marion boys snatched the victory—Marion 65, Cottonwood 6.
