A special election was very quietly conducted last Thursday. The majority in favor of electric light was three times that for the purchase of the water plant, which is very gratifying to those favoring municipal lighting at this time.

Roller polo at the rink Monday night between the Marion teams, Bankers and Mechanics. The teams are evenly matched, and a fast game is expected. Admission to the game is 15 cents.

One of the prettiest house parties of the season was that given Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. W.H. Carpenter. Guests of honor were members of the Thimble Club.

The Evangelical United Brethren Church at Youngtown was dedicated Feb. 16. The new structure is a credit to any community. It is a frame building, is on a solid foundation, and has a seating capacity of about 300.

“Courthouse Notes” for this week report that the new chairs and other furnishings recently ordered for different rooms are arriving. Chairs for the jury are of the revolving type and were put in place Saturday. Foundations were laid Monday for a porch on the east side of the jail. This building will soon be ready for occupancy. And, the bell for the courthouse clock arrived some weeks ago. As the contract for the installation of the clock is March 10, it is anticipated that this soon will be attended to.
