Tornadoes are getting too fashionable. Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, and California have recently had demonstrations of the Storm King’s fury. As far as we are concerned, we are willing for these furious gales to suspend operations for the season.

Last Monday, a man called at this office to advertise six head of mules and horses that had strayed away and found in this fountain of general information a gentleman who directed him to where the animals could be found.

One of the Battey band boys comes 15 miles to attend its meeting.

More has been done this spring to adorn and beautify Marion Centre than in any two seasons heretofore. Town pride is growing.

David Lucas brought to this office a stool of red May wheat that measured three feet and three inches in length and was partially headed out. Dave says it is a fair sample of the 80-acre upland field from which it was taken.
