Board of Commissioners met Aug. 9 in Marion Centre. Wednesday was a big day for us. Mr. Frazer brought in those mammoth potatoes; Mr. Hamilton donated a muskmelon; Mr. Battey contributed a basket full of tomatoes, and John M. Brumbaugh remembered us with a watermelon. These things, with the usual amount sent in by the neighbors, enabled us to get through the day with tolerable comfort.

Several fine rains since our last issue have ameliorated the severity of the weather and also placed the ground in good condition for plowing.
