The 48th annual Summervill reunion was July 13 at Marion City Building. Forty-one attended a basket dinner at noon.

Marion National Bank recently earned a five-star, superior rating from Bauer Financial Inc. of Coral Gables, Florida, a leading independent bank rating and research firm.

The Cottonwood Valley League 12-and-younger all-star team coached by Kelly Robson and Brad Seacat took third place this weekend in the Cal Ripken State Baseball Tournament in Lyons. A regional tournament beginning Saturday in Marion will be the first of its kind in Marion County. Team members are Tyler Busenitz, Grif Case, Jacob Harper, Taylor Heidebrecht, Troy Higgs, James Jones, Austin Pedersen, Zach Robson, Dylan Seacat, Luke Steele, and Bret Voth.

Sam Ehrlich is pictured with his reserve champion market steer at Herington’s Tri-County Fair. Sam’s parents are Mike and Kathy Ehrlich of Marion. He is a member of Happy Hustlers 4-H Club.

The 78th annual Marion County Fair will be July 23 to 26 in Hillsboro.

Tampa mayor Jim Clemmer is pictured with three young people who are bicycling from the East Coast to Seattle. The trio spent Tuesday night in Tampa City Park before continuing their journey west.
