Attorney General-elect Carla Stovall has issued a public invitation to people in Marion County to attend the inaugural ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday in Topeka.
Stovall will be sworn in as the 40th attorney general of Kansas. She is the first woman to be elected to that office.
The new attorney general is the daughter of Carl and Juanita Stovall of Marion and a graduate of Marion High School
Florence Middle School students Morgan Hett, Renee Reiswig, Hallie Bennett, Erin O’Dell, Justin Hett, Oliver Good, and Kyle Ramsey are the most recent students recognized for incentive awards. Students who meet requirements for grades, attendance, and participation are eligible for the awards.
“Beary Special Babies” born at St. Luke Hospital in December were Isaac Daniel Baldwin, born Dec. 1; Carly Ann Hess, Dec. 13; Austin Dean Savage, Dec. 23; and Carrie Elizabeth Carlson, Dec. 30.
About 35 Marion High School students will spend Monday in Topeka attending inaugural celebrations for incoming state officials. They also will perform at Attorney General-elect Stovall’s reception following inauguration.
