Students from Germany visited the meeting of the Marion City Commission Monday afternoon. Young Germans, here to learn more about America, have been coming to Marion for the past 10 years and enjoy the experience.

Dean Schroeder Motors in Hillsboro has been sold to Doug and Dana Wright, formerly of Santa Rosa, California. The Schroeders intend to stay in Hillsboro, and encourage support of the Wrights.

Marion High School’s musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” will be performed Friday and Saturday in Marion Municipal Auditorium.

Cast members are Monica Parscal, Jason Goodin, Brian Loomis, Jodi Smith, J.W. Goering, Jodi Thomas, Jared Herzet, Katrina Hancock, Bill Griffith, Gabrielle Longhofer, Brendan Kraus, Courtney Goering, Jenny Maggard, and Jason Wheeler.

Centre High School basketball player Luke Utting signed a letter of intent Thursday with Butler County Community College coach Randy Smithson. The Grizzlies are one of the top junior college teams in the nation and Utting was one of the most highly recruited players in Kansas.
