Old Settlers Day parade observers over the years agree, the 50-minute march down Main Street was one of the most impressive in years. The crowd was enormous. The non-commercial event which offers no drawings, door prizes, nor promotional consideration attracts people from across the nation. They don’t come to be entertained, win a prize, or for recognition. They come to see each other.

Bill Griffith and Jodi Thomas were named Marion High School 1995 Homecoming King and Queen Friday during halftime of the football game against Herington. The game was decided at halftime, with Marion winning by the final score of 63-6.

City of Marion workers Christian Pedersen and Bob Matz are pictured as they install a DARE Community sign on Main Street at the west edge of Marion. Officer Ryan Navrat has nine of the signs to be installed in front of Marion Elementary School and at entrances to Marion.

Centre High School seniors Kelly Steiner and Jenny Beausoleil were crowned 1995 Homecoming King and Queen Friday before the football game against Hope. The Cougars dismantled Hope 51-6, ending; the game late in the third quarter.

At the meeting of executive board of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary Sept. 28, Craig Hanson, hospital administrator, noted the addition to the clinic will start within the next month.
