People living between Cedar and Elm Sts. on the north hill in Marion soon will have street numbers painted on the curbs in front of their homes. Vocational agriculture students from Marion High will do the job as a community service.

Atmos Energy Corp. of Dallas has announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Greeley Gas Co. of Denver. Marion is among the Kansas towns served by Greeley.

Florence Middle School students receiving prizes in the annual Florence Women’s Christian Temperance Union’s essay contest are Gabrielle Longhofer, first; Mandy Hanson, second; and Kathy Vantuyl, third.

Glenn Litke of Marion, instructor of voice music at Bethany College, Lindsborg, will be soloist at Friday’s performance of J.S. Bach’s oratorio, “The Passion of Our Lord According to St. Matthew,” in Presser Hall at Lindsborg.
