A $100 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons guilty of vandalism of memorial gaslights in Central Park. The latest inspection of the nature trail found 24 mantles broken, 28 glass panes missing, and one complete light fixture ripped away and gone.

Hillsboro Airport authorities have chosen Alfred E. Schroeder Field as the airport’s official name. Schroeder was declared missing in action while flying with the Navy in World War II.

Florence Middle School eighth graders Reggie Conyers, Dominic Voelker, Tony Leeds, Nick Kraus, and Nathan Collett won the Cottonwood Valley Junior League Scholars Bowl, defeating Eureka 60-5 for the championship Thursday.
