County law enforcement personnel and city, county, and state road crews worked around the clock all weekend to rescue stranded motorists, aid accident victims, and clear roads choked by drifting snow. As the arctic front moved through the county, snow accumulated to more than eight inches at Marion Lake and 10 inches in Lincolnville.

Marion Marble & Granite Works sustained damages estimated by city police to exceed $600 Sunday night or early Monday morning. An unidentified person drove what police believe to be a late-model Ford pickup through the front wall of the building at 159 W. Main St.
