A contract has been let to construct an attractive and spacious new building for the Marion National Bank to be located on the same site as the present building at Third and Main. The bank will move to temporary quarters at the east end of the block about August 1.

“Art in the Park” will be one of several features at a community-wide event planned for Aug. 18 in Marion. Artists and craftsmen from a wide area have been invited. Tables will be available in Central Park.
Jami Shirley, Jackie Richmond, and Linda Williams attended Ted Owens’ basketball camp for girls for two weeks on the campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Boy Scouts of Marion Troop 102 attending camp at Quivera Scout Ranch June 17-23 were Monte Dalke, Myles Zeller, Jeff Conyers, Jeff Harris, Mike Jordan, Tim Jordan, Chris Meierhoff, Danny Horsch, Roger Hudlin, and leaders John Jordan and Keith Conyers.
