Mrs. Louis Kaiser and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kaiser, David and Angela had dinner “out” Sunday in observance of the 100th year of the existence of their farm.

Mary Kaiser, with her two sons, William and J. Henry, came to the United States and Lincolnville in the early 1870s from Himbergen, Germany.

They began homesteading the farm on May 15, 1880, and it has continued to be in the family since.

Mrs. Don Kelsey of Marion announces the engagement of her daughter, Lori, to Kevin Fruechting, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Fruechting, rural Marion. The wedding date has been set for August 19.

At a special meeting in Hillsboro May 13, the Republican precinct committee nominated Marquetta Eilerts of Peabody to fill the post of Marion County Clerk vacated last month by the death of Barbara Farley.

Jack Hartman, head basketball coach at Kansas State University spoke to a crowd of over 200 May 13 at the annual athletic awards banquet in Marion Gymnasium. The recognition dinner was sponsored by Marion Kiwanis Club. Gerry Harris was general chairman of the event.
