Marion County officials took their oaths of office Monday. Pictured are P.J. Jost of Hillsboro, George Merilatt of Lost Springs, and Carl Spangler of Peabody, county commissioners; James Meisner, county engineer; Virgil R. Wiebe, clerk of the district court; J.F. Franzen, county superintendent; Lillian Pierce, register of deeds; Edwin Westerhaus, county attorney; James Kline, sheriff; Jay E. Hargett, probate judge; and Francis Roberts, county clerk.

A new soda fountain, the very latest in modern equipment, is being installed at Marion Pharmacy, according to E.E. Phillips, owner.

The junior class will present a mystery-comedy, “Mystery at Midnight,” Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the high school auditorium.

Characters will be portrayed by Vicki Barrett, Dick Bredemeier, Jim Fruechting, Bud Hannaford, Treva Kelsey, Bill Markham, Max Merrill, Kathryn Popp, Joan Winkley, and Nora Zeller.

The post office at Aulne is being moved today from the elevator office to the Aulne grocery store. Willis Linn is the new postmaster.

Twenty-nine guests attended a party Saturday afternoon at the Roll-in-Rink in celebration of the 11th birthday of Kay Navrat, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Navrat.
