Two Hillsboro wrestlers scored championships Saturday at a round robin tournament in Lyons.
Going 5-0 at 195 pounds, Hillsboro senior Levi Mendoza won his first tournament this season. Mendoza has a 25-7 season record. He is ranked No. 6 in Class 321A at his weight.
At 220 pounds, sophomore Dawson Jost won his first varsity tournament with a 3-2 record after clinching a tiebreaker in a three-way tie.
Travis King and Ian Alumbaugh each took second, and Colin Settle and Franklin Jost each placed third in their brackets.
Hillsboro scored 108 points missing third place by 31.
“The roller coaster of emotions continues this winter,” Coach Scott O’Hare said.
The Trojans wrestle next at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Central Kansas League tournament in Hesston.
