Mennonite Relief Sale a success

Nearly $500,000 was raised at the 42nd annual Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale Friday and Saturday at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson.

The general auction exceeded last year’s totals, raising $80,032. The top selling items were a 1929 Model A at $16,500, a John Deere model H at $8,000, a Mercury Comet at $3,300, and a Hustler Sport mower at $4,500.

The quilt auction generated $103,795.

In all, proceeds were $25,000 more than last year.

Next year’s event will be April 8 and 9 in Hutchinson.
