Meryl Summervill

Meryl Ivan Summervill, 91, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Evening Star Personal Care Home, Alvin, Texas.

Meryl was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Marion, Kansas and was a resident of Alvin for 47 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Meryl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Summervill; his parents, James Walter and Florence Sylvia Summervill; sister, Natalie Billups and husband William; brothers, William Summervill, Harold Summervill, Arnold Summervill, Glen Summervill, and James Summervill; and grandson, David Pourchot.

Meryl is survived by his daughters, Michelle May and husband Darryl of Alvin, Texas, Connie Pourchot and husband David of Alvin, Texas, Bonnie Fortenberry and husband Jerry of Victoria, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Heather King, Jon Hood, Donovan May, Ashley May and Maggie May, Christopher Pourchot and wife Kayla, Bryan Pourchot, Jayme Logue and husband Dempsey, Bradley Fortenberry, and Jeremy Fortenberry; 10 great-grandchildren, Hailey King and Doyle King, Michael Pourchot III, Kade Pourchot, Kyle Pourchot, Zane Pourchot Tinley Pourchot, Braden Logue, Kylie Logue, and Cash Fortenberry, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Alvin, Texas, with Rev. Mike Mayhugh officiating. Interment was in City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery, Alvin, Texas.
