Midway makes its move

Staff writer

Midway Motors employees gathered Saturday in Hillsboro to relocate the car dealership’s inventory from the old location at 416 S. Date St. to the new location at 614 N. Ash St.

“We got all the employees and their spouses — everybody that could drive — and started a caravan,” general manager Lyle Ediger said Monday.

The move began Thursday evening and continued until Sunday, he said. The new location opened Monday.

“It’s going to be fun,” Ediger said.

The new dealership location has several advantages over the former one, he said. It has better visibility along U.S. 56, more room for inventory, better lighting, and a better service area. The service area of the new building has more bays and lifts than the old location.

“Shopwise it’s more efficient,” service department head Eldon Kaiser said, adding it will make it easier for customers to wait indoors as their vehicles are serviced.

The company is waiting for warmer weather to have its grand opening.
