Muriel Christiansen

Durham — Muriel Christiansen, 96, died April 16, 2014, at Parkside Home in Hillsboro. She was born Nov. 20, 1917, to Thomas and Cora Elizabeth (Logan) West in Norcatur, Kan.

She married Irvin Christiansen on May 25, 1940, in Durham.

Survivors include sons, H. Robert (Evelyn) of Washington, D.C., Gordon (Pat) of rural Durham, and Dale (Renee) of McPherson; daughters, Mona (Don) Herbers of Leoti, Kan., and Jan Skiles of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband in 2013.

Celebration of life service was Monday, April 21, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Durham. Family received guests Saturday, April 19, at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
