New clothing store is outgrowth of website

Marion lost a clothing boutique a few months ago, but that space for goods and services soon will be filled.

A grand opening for new boutique clothing store Jetset Clothing Co. will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Jetset sells clothing and accessories for women, youths, and babies. It also carries toys for babies and toddlers.

The business is owned by Courtney Wagner, a 2016 graduate of Marion High School.

The store is stocked with sweaters, blouses, jeans, onesies, rompers, jumpsuits, two-piece pajama sets, long-sleeved one-piece pajamas, sweats, jewelry, and other accessories.

Jetset even has bamboo clothing for both little ones and moms.

Bamboo helps regulate body temperature and is soft, cozy, and stretchy, Wagner said.

Wagner, daughter of Jeff and Tami Williams, left Marion to attend Emporia State University, married Topeka native Riley Wagner, and moved to Topeka.

The couple moved to Marion to be near her family and raise children here.

After their 2-year-old son Jett was born, Wagner wanted to get back into marketing, so she opened Jetset as an online business and operated out of a spare bedroom at home.

“I’ve been in marketing since I was in college,” Wagner said.

In seven months, the business outgrew its available space, so Wagner decided to open a store at 331 E. Main St.

“I was on my own since I started it in July,” Wagner said.

She’ll still operate the business by herself.

She’ll specialize in high-quality merchandise but keep some lower-quality items so shoppers can find a price that suits them.

Meanwhile, she’ll keep her online business going.

“I’d love to grow my online as well,” Wagner said.

The store will be open 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

“We’ll hopefully increase days and hours in the future,” Wagner said.
