No surprises in Hillsboro city election

Incumbents Shelby Dirks and Byron McCarty won re-election in uncontested races Tuesday.

Dirks received 20 votes in Ward 1, and McCarty received 24 votes in Ward 2.

With 50 ballots cast out of 1,717 registered voters, Hillsboro’s voter turnout was 3 percent.
