Dinner guests Aug. 26 in the home of Merlin and Karletta Wiebe were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Harry and Lela Wiebe, Kendall and Susie Wiebe and Abigail, and Anthony and Beth Wiebe and family. Anthony, Beth, and family left Aug. 28 for Tuscaloosa, Ala., where they will be house parents at the VS unit. Morning Star Church had a farewell for them Aug. 26 with a program and refreshments.

A very welcome rain of 1.25 to 2 inches was received the weekend of Aug. 25. Areas to the south and north received even more, but residents were thankful for what they received.

Dinner guests Aug. 26 at the home of Ken and Sandy Wiebe were Larry and Wanda Koehn, Tim and Sheila Koehn and family, and Sheila’s parents, the Winston Penners of Greenland, Manitoba, Canada.

Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Kale and Kathy Jantz, and Gary and Crystal Davis were dinner guests of Roy and Nadine Davis on Aug. 26.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe spent the day Aug. 24 sightseeing in the Manhattan area, including visiting the new Flint Hills Discovery Center.

Titus Koehn left Aug. 25 for Houston, Texas, to do VS work in a hospital for six months.

Dinner guests Aug. 26 in the home of Chet and Mellissa Boehs were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Stuart and Lea Isaac, and Kyle and Doug and Starla Koehn.

The Wayne Wiebe family and Marcel Unruh family were guests for dinner Aug. 26 in the home of Harry and Sheryl Wiebe.

Durham Senior Citizens met Aug. 22 at the community center. Dallas and Kate Redger and Doris Crowthers were the hostesses. Hamburgers were grilled and watermelon was eaten by 23 present.

Ron and Dora Unruh visited Marcella Unrh on Aug. 25 at Eagle Crest Homes in Salina.
