Community members mourned the passing of Muriel Christiansen on April 16, extended sympathy to her family, and attended memorial services April 21 at Durham Baptist Church. She was 96.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the third and fourth grade music program April 15 at the Hillsboro school auditorium. Their granddaughter Jenna Unruh had a part in the program.
Wendell and Linda Wedel and Greg and Charlene Wedel and family spent April 18 to 20 at the Alva Mayeskea family reunion. They met at Immanuel Christian School near Fredonia on April 18, then April 19 ate lunch at the park in Independence and dinner at the Mayeskea home place. There were about 108 in attendance.
Ruston and Lydia Dirks had their third child, a son, Isaiah Nathan, on April 20 at Salina Regional Medical Center. He weighed 7 lbs., 6 ounces. He has two older sisters.
Warren and Jane Unruh and family were hosts for a gathering of the Harry and Lela Wedel family on April 20 at Cottonwood Grove Christian School. About 60 family members attended and shared a potluck supper.
Hiram and Rhonda Wedel of Iowa spent the weekend of April 19 with Roy and Nadine Davis. Rick and LaVae Koehn and sons joined the group April 20.
The Isaac Wiebe family gathered April 19 and 20 at a campground near Roach, Mo. The families of Clayton Wiebe, Richard Wiebe, Ransom Wiebe, Lou Mininger, Chris Friesen, and the late Ken Wiebe and Lillie Giesbrecht were in attendance. About 140 of 240 descendants were in attendance.
Ron and Dora Unruh joined the Jim Enns family for Easter dinner April 20. Other guests were David and Ashley Enns and family, Darren and Coriana Enns Riley, and Lisa Enns of Seattle, Wash.

Rhys Aaron Steel, born April 11, is Lola Redger’s great-grandson, not her grandson.
