NORTHWEST OF DURHAM: Cottonwood Grove takes field trip to Topeka

Cottonwood Grove School fifth to eighth grade students took a field trip on March 3 to Topeka, where they toured the Capital and had a picnic lunch at Lake Shawnee. They then toured in the afternoon the fire department, EMT unit and observation tower at the airport.

Dora Unruh went to the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge on March 8 to attend the Memorial Service for her cousin Richard Regier.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe are proud grandparents to Caleb Grant, born Feb. 23 to Brad and Jana of Millsap, Idaho. Lela Wedel is his great-grandmother.

Wendell and Linda Wedel left March 12 for a mini-vacation to Shipshewana, Indiana, where they did some sightseeing and celebrated their 40th anniversary. They visited Hiram and Rhonda Wedel and Brayden on March 8 at Cantril, Iowa, and returned home in the evening.

Jim and Brenda Enns visited the Ron Unruh home on March 9.

Guests in the home of Greg and Charlene Wedel for dinner on March 13 were Wendell and Linda Wedel. They helped Teona celebrate her 9th birthday.

Guests in the home of Warren and Anita Unruh on March 11 were Vi Dalke and Ron and Dora Unruh to help Jenna celebrate her 12th birthday.

Those that went to the home of Travis and Connie Becker at Halstead on the evening of the March 15 were Wendell and Linda Wedel and Greg and Charlene Wedel and family. They had supper together in honor of Eli’s 2nd birthday.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe invited Aaron and Janessa Herbel and Anthony and Beth Wiebe and family for dinner on March 13 to celebrate Anthony’s birthday.
