NORTHWEST OF DURHAM: FFA members receive multiple awards

The USD 410 FFA chapter hosted a supper for family and friends May 2. Lisa Gies and Kyle Unruh are two members from this area. Each girl received a number of awards for participation throughout the school year. Wayne and Debbie Gies and Lauren and her friend, Warren and Anita Unruh and Jenna, Ron and Dora Unruh, and Lane and Linda Dyck attended the event. The Dycks have grandchildren that are members of the club.

Jim and Brenda Enns visited at the Ron Unruh home Saturday evening. They brought dessert in honor of Mother’s Day. Warren Unruh and Kyle and Jenna, and Mark Unruh also stopped by the Unruh home over the weekend.

Ransom and Lilian Wiebe received grandchildren Randy and Laura Unruh and Adam as Saturday afternoon guests. The Unruh’s were on their way to Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. They are moving there from California. They were overnight guests of Randy’s sister Rebecca Thomas.

Jason and Sheri Wiebe had Mother’s Day potluck dinner of at their home. Guests were Ransom and Lilian Wiebe, Mark and Kris Wiebe and Luke, Jasper and Joni Zeiset, Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and family, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, Aaron and Janessa Herbel, Kayla Wiebe, Rebecca Peachy, Katie Schmidt, and Sharon Redger.

Outdoor picnic plans were recently changed to an indoor dinner at the Calvin Wiebe home. Guests were Clayton and Betty Wiebe and family, Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Wayne and Lora Lee Wiebe and family, and Loretta Wiebe.

Tim and Shelia Koehn asked Larry and Wanda Wiebe, and Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and family to dine with them on Mother’s Day for dinner.

Wendell and Linda Wedel and Greg and Charlene Wedel and family attended church in Sedgwick with Travis and Connie Becker and family. They all ate a Mother’s Day dinner in Wichita. They also celebrated Connie’s May 9 birthday.

Lola Redger went to Newton Sunday afternoon. Lola was a Mother’s Day dinner guest of Ray and Dawn Redger at a restaurant along with the rest of the Redger family.
