Durham Senior Citizens met for a potluck dinner Oct. 23 at the community building. County Commissioner Roger Fleming was a special guest. He answered questions and spoke about the county’s recycling program. He told the attendees that a recycling bin will soon be delivered to Durham.
Guests also spoke about Durham’s centennial celebration, which was in 1987. Lila Unruh was hostess for the potluck. The next meeting will be Nov. 20 for Thanksgiving.
The Morning Star Church youth served a soup supper Oct. 24 to a good crowd. Donations will be used to buy gifts for children in a Kansas City orphanage.
Nelson and Bev Wiebe were hosts of a supper Oct. 25 in their barn. Guests were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys, Warren and Jane Unruh, Larry and Wanda Koehn, Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, Benj Wiebe, and Kayla Wiebe.
Mark and Barb Unruh went to visit Josh and Katelin Hendricks Oct. 27 in Wamego.
Larry and Wanda Koehn had Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and family, Titus and Chelsea Koehn, Keela Smith, and Cassia Koehn as dinner guests Oct. 27.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe visited Darrel Koehn in the hospital Oct. 27 in Wichita. Darrel’s wife is Betty’s niece.
Merlin and Karletta Wiebe were dinner guests of Anthony and Beth Wiebe for Tylan’s 5th birthday celebration. Joining them were Kendall and Susie Wiebe and Abigail, and Wills and Cindy Troyer of Ohio. Merlin and Karletta and the Troyers are Tylan’s grandparents.
