The Cottonwood Grove School had their closing program Thursday evening. The program, “Immigration and Ellis Island,” was a very informative and well-done program with skits, readings and songs.

This year’s graduates were Caden Wedel, son of Greg and Charlene Wedel; Ryan Wiebe, son of Doyle and Kara Wiebe; and Terrall Rhodes, son of Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes. A basket dinner and play day took place on Saturday.

Dora Unruh went to Newton Thursday to attend memorial services for Allen Nickel at Grace Community Church.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Loretta Wiebe, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and family, Jordan and Katie Wiebe, Terry and Robyn Schultz and family, and Mr. and Mrs Paul Schultz of Michigan gathered at Eisenhower Park in Abilene on Sunday for a picnic dinner. They celebrated the May birthdays of Jaron Wiebe and Logan Koehn.

After Sunday evening church services, Ransom and Lilian Wiebe entertained Terry and Robyn Schultz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz, and Harry and Sheryle Rhodes at their home.
