Aggravated burglary
A purse, two checks, a driver’s license, Social Security card, digital camera, film camera, and $80 were reported stolen at 3:29 p.m. July 3 from Joyce D. Kyle on Wagonwheel Road, rural Florence. The purse was recovered later that day.
Aggravated burglary
Five checks, a Vision card, driver’s license, and $450 were reported stolen at 1:58 p.m. July 3 from Herbert E. Strotkamp of Cincinnati Street, Burns.
Peabody
Friday: Police assisted with an incident involving a juvenile at a home. Police took a report of a harassing phone call. Police assisted Harvey County sheriff’s deputies with recovery of a vehicle stolen in Harvey County and recovered in Peabody.
Saturday: An incident at a downtown business was reported. A report was generated about attempted theft of an all-terrain vehicle.
Burglary and forgery
Two checks were reported stolen between July 3 and 6 from Linden W. and Dorene L. Thiessen of rural Hillsboro, and one check was reported forged. Police suspect a family member was involved.
Domestic battery and aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer
Roberta Kyle of Hutchinson reported being hit by her husband, who had been drinking, at 8:30 p.m. July 7 in the 100 block of W. 7th Street in Florence. Deputy Travis Wilson arrested the husband and accused him of threatening him with a firearm. The husband, Daniel Kyle, was jailed on charges of domestic violence and aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. The victim was featured last week in a story about her terminal illness.
Driving under the influence
Bradley Carlson, 51, of Marion was accused of driving under the influence at 1:40 a.m. July 7 in the 400 block of East Main Street, Marion.
Misdemeanor theft
Amanda Horacek, 28, of Hillsboro reported theft of nine tablets of prescription Xanex worth $50 between 4p.m. July 8 and 4 a.m. July 9 at Container Services. There were no signs of forced entry.
Theft
A fishing rod and reel, tackle box with tackle, and fishing license were reported stolen from Deborah S. Blanding of Beloit July 6 at Marion Reservoir.
Theft of motor fuel
Theft of 20 gallons of unleaded gasoline from a motor vehicle was reported by James L. Bartel of 250th Road, rural Hillsboro, between June 24 and 25 in the 2300 block of Bison Road, rural Lehigh.
