Domestic battery

One person was jailed and additional charges are pending after separate domestic disturbances at the same address on consecutive days.

Dashia Robey, 18, reported that her boyfriend pushed her toward a door and slammed her hand in it at 8:10 p.m. July 28 in her home in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Officer Steven Janzen reported that the door glass was broken and her hand and ankle were injured.

Allistar Young, 21, of the same address was arrested in the incident.

At 9:35 a.m. the day before, officer David Funk reported, both Robey and Young claimed to be battered by each other in another domestic disturbance. Funk reported that battery charges were pending against the pair.

Criminal trespass

Charges are pending, according to officers Brad Richards and David Funk, against a 16-year-old who allegedly twice entered a business he had been banned from in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

Police filed two separate reports alleging criminal trespass at the same address — at 11:45 a.m. July 31 and again at 4:16 p.m. Aug. 8.

In each case, the name of what was identified as being a business at that address was blacked out even though, under state law, offense reports are open public documents and the address in question turns out to be that of an apartment building.

Police did not black out names of witnesses and those who reported the incidents. However, the newspaper does not routinely report such information.

Aggravated assault, battery

A 14-year-old was taken into custody after he allegedly threatened an 8-year-old by pointing a knife at his throat then threw him to the ground at 8:10 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 200 block of W. Grand St., officer Steven Janzen reported.

Battery, disorderly conduct, criminal damage

A 14-year-old male was arrested after Miranda Jasper, 18, allegedly was battered and a front door, ceiling, and television set belonging to Deborah Olsen, 42, and together valued at $750 allegedly were damaged at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 3.

No additional information about the incident, which allegedly occurred at the women’s residence in the 300 block of N. Birch St., was released.

Battery

Charges against a 13-year-old male acquaintance are pending after relatives of a 14-year-old Hillsboro girl reported witnessing her being battered at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 4 while in the street in the 200 block of W. Grand St.

SHERIFF

Burglary

Wayne Decker, 78, of Hesston reported that a black-and-white dog and various equipment were stolen between June 20 and July 27 from a temporary storage facility near Alamo and 330th Rds.

Reported stolen were a rear tine from a tiller, three weed trimmers, a circular saw, an electric drill, and an electric fencer. Decker also reported that sliding doors and a padlock and chain were destroyed.

Total value was estimated at $1,050.

Deputy Duane McCarty’s report suggests without explanation that the perpetrator may have used computer equipment to help with the burglary.

Criminal damage and trespass

A $10 padlock and a $500 solar panel bracket and building owned by Kansas Gas Service were reported destroyed between June 16 and Aug. 5 near 230th and Sunflower Rds.
