A 2003 Jeep sports utility vehicle owned by Jared Unrau, 27, Newton, was reported stolen April 5 from a residence on 90th Rd. between Diamond and Eagle Rds. Sheriff’s deputy Mike Ottensmeier estimated the value of the loss to be $20,000.

Identity fraud

Rodney Reeves, 47, of Hillsboro reported that an unknown suspect used his name and his Texas driver’s license number on a fraudulent check passed at a hardware store on March 13 in Florida. He reported no financial loss.
