Burglary
David Remmers, 34, Lincolnville, reported March 19 theft of a Remington 870 Express 12-gauge shotgun, Ruger 10-22 rifle, rifle scope, and two ammo magazines between 8 a.m. and 3:38 p.m. March 5 from his residence on 290th Rd. between US-77 and Xavier Rd.
Burglary
A 2002 Kawasaki Mule belonging to Charles Reimer, 90, Wichita, and valued at $3,250 was taken between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 12 from a storage shed on Holly Rd. between 70th and 80th Rds. Deputy Bronson Shipman indicated force was used to gain access.

Domestic battery
Hillsboro police investigated a report of a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of S. Washington St. at 8:36 p.m. March 20. Officer Randy Brazil discovered a physical altercation between a 29-year-old man and his 23-yer-old girlfriend. A witness reported that the woman struck the man’s face. Sabrina Hessel of Hillsboro was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Sheriff’s deputies and Marion police assisted.

Driving under the influence and failure to report an accident
James Williams, 53, Marion, was arrested March 10 by Marion police after being confronted at his residence about damage to two mailboxes in the 700 block of N. Roosevelt St. allegedly caused when Williams ran over them with a Dodge pickup. According to Marion police, Williams admitted to drinking at least 10 beers before he drove home from a residence in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. Williams failed a field sobriety test, and his blood alcohol level was reported to be .261. Williams was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and failing to report an accident. Damage to the mailboxes was estimated to be $250.
Criminal trespass
Landon Pedersen, 20, Marion, reported that an individual came onto his property in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. and took a license plate off a vehicle between Feb. 15 and March 15. The value of the missing plate was listed as $50.
