Criminal damage to property
Nicholas Kraus, 38, Marion, reported $1,000 of damage to a fence on US-56 between Timber and Upland Rds. occurring between 9 and 9:45 a.m. April 28.
Theft of property
Jan Buckland, 60, Lost Springs, reported two Boer goats valued at $800 were stolen from a field in the 100 block of Poplar St. between 8 a.m. May 10 and 4:24 p.m. May 11.
Conan Mader, 30, Hillsboro, reported theft of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup from the street at his residence in the 500 block of S. Main St. between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday. Assistant chief Jessey Hiebert reported the value of the truck as $4,953. The truck was reportedly unlocked, but it was unknown if keys were in it.
Philip Oelke, 46, Hillsboro, reported theft of a 2011 Toyota Tundra, along with a Jennings .22 pistol and tools, from a lot in the 600 block of S. Main St. at 1:04 a.m. Thursday. The truck and tools were found later that day in a parking lot in the 500 block of E. D St.; however, the pistol was missing, according to officer David Funk. The value of the pistol was estimated to be $100.
Irwin Sander, 37, Hutchinson, reported theft of a 1998 Honda Civic from a lot in the 600 block of Orchard Dr. between 3 and 3:58 p.m. May 16. The car, valued by officer David Funk at $3,000, was recovered Friday. Funk noted in his report that it was believed the vehicle was stolen by the same person who wrecked and abandoned a stolen vehicle north of Hillsboro the same day.
Aggravated domestic battery
Eddie A. Eaves Jr., 35, Hillsboro, was arrested May 15 by Hillsboro police on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and criminal restraint connected to incidents reported to have occurred at 3 p.m. May 13 and 5 p.m. May 14, but not reported until 5 p.m. May 15. According to officer Randal Brazil, Eaves allegedly choked his victim with his hands May 13, causing soreness in their neck and throat.
Contribute to child misconduct
Dylan L. Horton, 18, Hillsboro, was jailed by Hillsboro police Thursday on suspicion of concealing a runaway at his residence in the 400 block of E. 1st St. Officer John Hubert reported an additional charge of encouraging a child to remain/become a child in need of care.
Burglary and theft
Tianna Frazell, 23, Newton, reported theft of $2 in change from an unlocked vehicle in a Tabor College parking lot between 10 p.m. May 8 and 2:30 p.m. May 9.
