Domestic battery

A 22-year-old Hillsboro man reported being physically abused between 1:12 and 2 a.m. July 20 in the 400 block of S. Washington St. Brittney J. Brooks, 20, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, according to police.

Peabody

Theft

Shawna Shiplet, Peabody, reported bicycles, worth $200 total, were stolen between midnight Friday and 3:15 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of N. Vine St.

Child abandonment

An abandoned girl younger than 16 was taken into custody Saturday. The case remains under investigation. The person wanted on suspicion of child abandonment left Kansas without bringing her, according to police.
