SHERIFF

Aggravated battery

Calvin W. Lee Jr. suffered what was characterized as a severe laceration at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 27 after a neighbor allegedly punched him in the face during a quarrel in which drinking was involved at a house in Antelope, according to monitored transmissions and deputy Aaron Slater’s report.

Nathaniel D. Troyer, 31, Lincolnville, was arrested in connection with the incident and on Sedgwick County burglary and theft warrants. He was released a day later after posting a $1,500 bond.

Felony criminal damage

A mailbox at Lost Springs post office sustained damage estimated at $3,000 between 9:15 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28.

HILLSBORO

Theft

A license plate reportedly was stolen or lost sometime before 2:30 p.m. Nov. 1 from a vehicle lent to Jared Fenske of Hillsboro by Little Applie Toyota Honda in Manhattan during repair of Fenske’s regular vehicle.

Possession and distribution opiates, marijuana possession, interference with law enforcement, speeding, having no insurance

Robert M. Buhrle, 50, Hillsboro, was arrested Sunday after he was stopped for speeding in the 800 block of S. Ash St. He was being held Tuesday in lieu of $15,000 bond.

According to police, a sheriff’s department drug dog detected the scent of an illicit substance in Buhrle’s vehicle and marijuana was discovered. A scuffle then broke out as officers attempted to place him in custody.

Before a final search at county jail, Buhrle allegedly attempted to dispose of a plastic bag containing 75 pills. The bag was discovered in a routine search of the squad car that transported him. The pills were sent off for testing.
