These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Criminal damage, trespassing

Patricia H. Wedel, Newton, reported May 16 that a door, drywall, flooring, an air conditioner, and an antique hammer sustained an estimated $900 in damage between 3 p.m. May 10 and 5 p.m. May 16 at a residence in the 300 block of S. Olive St. in Peabody.

Deputy Joshua Meliza’s report, one of two offense reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department, did not indicate whether there were signs of forced entry.

A sheriff’s deputy investigated because Peabody is operating without police.

Rebekkah C. Coffman of Marion reported May 21 that a 1993 Honda Accord, a fishing pole, a radar detector, four tires, a blanket, two shoes, miscellaneous jewelry, and hand tools, together valued at $1,175 were stolen between 3 p.m. Feb. 26 and 5:12 p.m. May 21 from a farm on 210th Rd. between Yarrow and Zebulon Rds.

Deputy Landis Goodman’s report did not indicate whether there were signs of forced entry.

MARION

Domestic battery, criminal damage, child endangerment

Ten hours after his release from jail on his own recognizance on two counts of failing to appear in court, Daniel J. Henry, 34, Marion, allegedly yanked a cell phone from the hand of his 24-year-old live-in former girlfriend at 8:31 p.m. May 14 at their Country Inn Motel residence in front of the couple’s two children, ages 1 and 2.

The phone sustained damage estimated at $300. The incident was witnessed by a Marion resident and by visitors from Doniphan, Missouri, and Benton, Illinois, according to one of two offense reports released Monday by Marion police.

Henry was booked back into Marion County Jail on suspicion of domestic battery, child endangerment, and criminal damage to property. He was released 19 hours later after posting a $1,500 bond.

Recklessly fleeing police

Sarah V. Smith, 46, Marion, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. May 15 in the 100 block of N. 1st St. after she allegedly attempted to flee in a white 1991 Chevrolet G20 van when an officer tried to stop her for running a stop sign at Main and Roosevelt Sts.

Officer Dustin Woodford’s report said she recklessly maneuvered around him, nearly hitting his patrol car.

She was arrested on suspicion of recklessly fleeing police and released 38 hours later after posting a $5,000 bond.
